Exhibition poster design across exhibition and Social media formats

My Haunting Idol

2024 | Immersive Environments Minor, Amsterdam | 2-day project

GOAL

To design a visually striking exhibition poster for a class show based on the chapter My Haunting Idol from AI 2041 – capturing themes of identity, AI and the future within a 2-day timeframe.

PROCESS & TOOLS

The process started with a moodboard exploring the tension between human identity and artificial intelligence. A composite image was created by merging a classmate’s face Jimin with a custom-designed mesh (Illustrator), refined with Adobe Firefly for futuristic effects, and finalized in Photoshop. A neon typography effect, Japanese text and a Tokyo backdrop added cultural depth and context. Formats were adapted for multiple social media ratios, and animation was added in collaboration with classmate Erik.

Tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe Firefly, Adobe XD, After Effects

OUTCOME

A fully adapted poster suite across exhibition and social media formats – animated and displayed as part of a class exhibition with eight installations based on the same chapter My Haunting Idol from AI 2041.

REFLECTIONS

Working within 48 hours forces you to trust your first instinct, and that turned out to be liberating. The collaboration with Erik on the animation showed me the value of knowing your own strengths and knowing when to let go. Next time I would invest more time in textures.
