My role

Ideation, Qualitive research, Conceptualization, Process documentation, Double diamond.

I led this project from start to finish, focusing on developing a digital concept that improves and rethinks the commuter experience with DSB S-trains.

Through desk research, surveys, interviews, observations, and detailed analysis, the following issues have been identified: a lack of real-time updates on train delays and cancellations, along with safety concerns among female respondents. Additionally, there is significant interest in discounts and entertainment.

The solution is DSB Navigate, a hexagonal screen placed at stations that provides real-time updates on train operations. The hexagon shape represents the DSB logo, making it recognizable for commuters. The screen features emergency buttons for direct contact with emergency services, along with integrated speakers, a microphone, and a surveillance camera for emergencies. A QR code on the screen leads to an extended DSB app, which includes a loyalty program, games, an overview of available seats, and sends push notifications for train delays and cancellations. DSB Navigate creates a more informed and secure travel experience for commuters.

DSB Navigate was my 5th semester exam project at KEA, Copenhagen School of Design and Technology, which I completed within one week. The project required me to develop a user-centered solution under a tight deadline, showcasing my proficiency in rapid prototyping, iterative design, and maintaining a strong focus on user experience.
